Emergency First Aid at Work Course

 

(1 day course, previously called appointed persons)

 

This one-day course is ideal for licensed premises and has been designed for the small as well as larger workplaces that require additional first aid staff to assist the qualified First Aid at Work Qualified First Aider. It will ensure that you meet your regulatory requirements  for first aid provision where your risk assessment indicates that first aid training covering emergency protocols is sufficient for your workplace.

Who should attend?

 

This course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments, or larger workplaces where additional first aid staff are required to assist the qualified First Aid at Work First Aider.

The course is ideal for:

• small businesses

• larger business where additional First Aid Staff are required.

• Those working in the building trade where additional emergency first aid at work cover is required.

What you will learn?

 

The content of this course provides basic life saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations, covering the following:

The role of the first aider                                                Health and safety (first aid) regulations

Managing an emergency                                               Resuscitation (adult CPR)

Communication and casualty care                              Seizures (adult)

Bleeding (minor and severe)                                         Shock

Burns                                                                                 Unresponsive casualty

Choking (adult)                                                                Defibrillation

Allergic reactions and Epi-pen

 

Course duration

 

One day. (6 contact training hours)

The course can be run over a single day or over 2 separate days.

Candidates MUST attend all training sessions. 

 

All successful candidates on this course get their first annual refresher training half price.

Assessment

​

Written assessment and continuous observation by the trainer.

Candidates MUST attend all training sessions and MUST achieve the required standard undertaking practical skills. 

​

Candidates need a basic command of English (defined as Level 2). So whilst we are often able to provide support to people who for example do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance, although we may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. Certification

​

Successful candidates will receive an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate, which is valid for three years. 

​

Cost

​

Course of 12 candidates at your premises = £540.00 per course

​

Usual price is £60.00per person. (£45.00 per person when booking a course for up to 12 Candidates).

​
